Education
Atlantic College. In 1964, two years after it had been founded by German educationalist Kurt Hahn, I travelled to Wales to photograph life at the United World College of the Atlantic, more usually referred to as Atlantic College. This was, and is, an internationally prestigious school students aged 16 - 20 that went on to educate Nobel laureates, global royalty, science, business and space pioneers, and numerous respected journalists. Today the College has around 350 students from more than 75 countries and its aim is to foster respect for diverse cultural, social and religious backgrounds. Community service is integral to the ethos of Atlantic College with students giving over 52,000 hours of service to the community each year. Students are selected on merit, regardless of religious, social or ethnic background or ability to pay.
